Leonard Lopp – Glacier Park Artist
Add To Basket
Few Montana artists have placed as many paintings in as many parlors throughout North America as Leonard Lopp. In a prolific career spanning over 50 years, Lopp produced hundreds of color-splashed mountain vistas, ecstatic works in oil on canvas. Leonard Lopp is best known for his seasonal landscapes of Glacier National Park, its awesome mountains, abundant waters, gem-colored wildflowers and glorious sunsets. Though his loose style and vigorous application of paint is reminiscent of impressionism, Lopp is considered a representational painter. This lovely 32-page catalog features photographs of Leonard Lopp creating and presenting his work, text by Sue Rolfing, and many colorful examples of Lopp's art. Collections by Jane & Robert Lopp, Stephen P. Johnson, and James Wheat III are featured in this 2004 work sponsored by the Hockaday Museum of Art, Jane & Robert Lopp, Melody & Stuart Johnson, Stephen P. Johnson, and James Wheat III.
