A note from our Curator:

Hello Members' Salon participants!

 We greatly appreciate your membership and participation in the Members' Salon. Though it was not yet called the “Members' Salon”, the Hockaday’s first exhibit showcased the work of the founding Flathead Valley Art Association members. It is because of each and every one of you that we have had 50 successful years!

*The 2019 Members' Salon will be held upstairs in our main galleries, as the culmination of our 50th Anniversary celebrations.*

The upstairs venue will allow us to expand this exhibit in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Hockaday, and we intend to make a big splash with this show! 

We will be strict about delivery/return deadlines and other details: when you submit your entry fee and artist statement, you will also be required to submit the title, medium, dimensions, and price of the artwork you will be showing.  The main reason for all of this is so that we have time to create an attractive exhibit to showcase your work, and make it the best HMA Members' Salon yet!

The Hockaday Museum of Art invites all members to participate in Members' Salon 2019. Museum memberships must be current.

Accepted Works
One piece of artwork in any media will be accepted per member. Artwork will not be accepted unless it is wired and ready to hang. Any other hanging apparatus must have Museum approval before the artwork is dropped off. Images must be no larger than 32"H x 28"W x 32"D (896 sq. inches). All artwork must have been created within the past 12 months. Artwork may be offered for sale with 60 percent paid to the artist and 40 percent paid to the Museum. 

Specific instructions will be sent to each applicant upon receipt of their entry. 

*Please note: works must stay up for the entire exhibition.

How to Enter
Current members may participate by submitting a $20 non-refundable fee paid through PayPal and email a 50-word artist statement to by Nov. 1, 2019. All works will be displayed gallery-style in our Main Galleries as part of our 50th Anniversary year-long celebration. (See Particpation directions beneath Important Dates.)
This exhibition will feature People's Choice Awards with voting open to the public beginning at the Opening Reception. Voting ends Jan. 12, 2020.  Winners will be announced the following week.

  • First Place: $250
  • Second Place: $100
  • Third Place: $50
