About the Exhibit
Internationally acclaimed artist and New York Jackson Pollock Foundation award winner FITZ Maurice brings her series of national park paintings to the Hockaday. The classically trained artist traveled extensively, studying independently at museums and studios in Europe, Japan and Mexico. Her goal is for her paintings "to reveal the truth that is in the essense of beauty and see it connect others to their higher self, their spirit." FITZ is an avid supporter of the beauty and importance of our national narks and hopes to raise awareness of America's treasures with her series. Her quest is to travel and paint "live" in each of America's 59 national parks.
