Echo Ukrainetz

Echo is a native Montanan whose favorite school subjects were drawing and design. Completely self-taught in batik techniques, Echo chose fine art batik as a medium because she enjoys the manipulation of the fabric and colors, the complex layering effects, and the sometimes unexpected but always interesting results. Her preferred subject matter is drawn from history and the beauty of Montana. She uses historical photographs for their emotion and historical. The human face is an interesting combination of planes of color, shadows and highlights which can be effectively be rendered in batik.

Echo’s batiks are in collections across the United States and Canada and her work has been accepted into numerous fine art auctions including: The C M Russell Auction, The Yellowstone Art Museum Auction, The Holter Museum Auction and the Paris Gibson Square Museum Auction. Echo has had articles about her work in Western Art Collector, Southwest Art, Cowboys and Indians, and is represented by numerous galleries throughout the United States.

She has participated in exhibits and art shows throughout the west, including the Hockaday. 2020 is Echo’s fourth A Timeless Legacy.
